Purhai Dal

Ingredients

 

1/2 cup split moong dal

presoaked for 2-3 hours

Salt according to taste

1/2 tsp chili powder

1/4 tsp haldi powder

6-7 whole black pepper

6-7 cloves

1 bari illaichi

1 tsp zeera

1tsp ginger paste

1 small onion

For garnishing:

Few fresh dhuniya leaves

chopped green chilies

 

instructions

 

Sauté the sliced onion in oil til transparent. Add all spices and dal. Mix well. Add water so much so that it reaches 1 cm above the surface of dal. Cover and cook on medium heat till soft and water has dried. Garnish with fresh dhuniya leaves, chopped green chilis and serve with lemon.
